Kangana Ranaut (birth nam Kangana Amardeep Ranaut) is a bollywood glamorous actress and model. She was born on 20 March 1987 in Bhambla, near Manali, which is in the Mandi district in the State of Himachal Pradesh (India). Her father name is Amardeep, who is a businessman and contractor and her mom name is Asha, who is a school-teacher. She has an elder sister, Rangoli and a younger brother Akshit. Kangana Ranaut's grandfather was an IAS Officer.
She did her schooling in Chandigarh (Punjab), from DAV model school, where she participated in many debates, Elocution, and was a basket-ball player. After completing her school study, she attended Science College in Simla. She then moved to Delhi to become a model. She joined the Elite Modelling Agency situated in Delhi in 2003. She is also a trained Kathak dancer. Kangana Ranaut also joined Asha Chandra's three-month course in 2004 to brush herself to face camera. Then she moved to Mumbai to try her luck in bollywood.

She made her Bollywood debut in 2006 in Gangster, where she shared the screen with actor Shiney Ahuja. She won 'Filmfare Best Female Debut Award', 'Stardust Superstar of Tomorrow - Female', 'Zee Cine Award for Best Female Debut', 'Star Screen Award for Most Promising Newcomer - Female', 'IIFA Best Female Debut Award' and 'Asian Festival of First Films, Best Actress' for Gangster. She has been also won 'Film-fare' and a 'National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress' for her performance as a troubled model in Madhur Bhandarkar directed film 'Fashion'.
